Shop my Stash: Face

If you follow Beauty Broadcast, you're familiar with the title. This will be a bit different though...
Usually a "shop my stash" is pulling things you don't normally use or used to love and trying to use them more often again. MY shop my stash is about this thing...
this is an organizer I keep on my vanity and plop in the products that I'm using the most at the moment. I thought I could take each section and do blog posts about what's in each and what I think of them!
In today's post we're going to the right to where I keep my face products
The first products in here are my BB Creams! I'm not really one to use foundation. Mainly because I don't want it to break me out and I'm not one to fuss over coverage. Plus they provide a lot of different properties that are great for your skin!

The Marcelle BB Cream* is one of my favorites! It's a Canadian brand and you can buy this at Shoppers Drug Mart or Wal-Mart. I find that this one has great coverage for a BB Cream but it doesn't feel heavy at all! That's really all there is to say about it.... except the price. At Shopper Drug Mart it's around $24CAD and at Wal-Mart around $20CAD. Honestly? I will definitely repurchase this BB Cream, I just really love the way it works! There is also no SPF in it. It doesn't really concern me too much. And I do use a moisturizer with SPF in it after I wash my face.
*this link is in french... my browser is Google Chrome and it offered to translate it for me.
The Revlon Photo Ready BB Cream is great for the price. A plus to this is that it has SPF built in and I would not recommend this for oily skin. I think it may be the SPF in this product that makes my skin look pretty shiny. you may find this with most BB Creams anyways because they have a lot of moisture in them, but I don't find that the Marcelle one does this. Other then that I think this is a great option if you're looking for a BB Cream.

The Rimmel Stay Matte Powder has been a cult favorite for a while now. This is one of the first makeup products I ever used. I think this is a great choice if you haven't used this powder before. However, after using MAC's MSF Natural and the next product I'm going to tell you about, I've found that this powder can look a tad cakey. The problem may be that the powder isn't thin enough, it's not "finely milled". Maybe Rimmel figured that if they didn't thin it out it to make it better coverage? I think in order to REALLY enjoy this powder, one of the shades has to really match your skin tone.
Revlon's Nearly Naked Powder is a hit in my books! I find that it takes away shine without making me look too cakey. Plus it gives good coverage! What confuses me about this powder is that the color is labeled 020. It was the lightest shade on the shelf, there is no shade with a one. After checking the website this powder is the lightest shade available. The picture above is very accurate to the color of the powder in real life. My sister originally bought this powder, but it was too dark so she gave it to me and I fell in love. So obviously, if you're fair skinned, you're out of luck.
Benefits Tints and Beams are one of my staples. These products are so universal I don't know how a collection is complete with at least one of these products! They're also great during school cause they're so quick to slap on and run out the door. Just a warning about these, when you're using the tints make sure to blend right after dabbing it on your cheeks because they sink in really fast. (It was impossible to photograph BeneTint in the first swatch photo). Also, do you see how beautiful that second swatch of high beam is! This is why I love it!
MAC ProLongwear Concealer is another staple in my collection. This is my second purchase of it, and i will definitely purchase it again! It has great coverage without feeling heavy; it kinda just blends right in. The only thing I wouldn't recommend this for is under the eyes. I also hate the pump cause a little goes a super long way and it pumps out way too much.
Revlon PhotoReady Concealer is something I haven't been using quite as long as the MAC but it is one that I'd definitely recommend. Unlike the MAC, it's great for under the eyes! It's super creamy and light and won't crease! I find that it also has a great, light coverage for acne and redness. The only complaint I have is that because of it's "PhotoReady" name, it has those little flecks of shimmer, which is noticeable if you look close enough. I also wouldn't recommend it if you're going for something long-wearing.

So that's what I'm currently using on my face! If you noticed, there was no blush in there. Mainly because I switch my cheeks up a lot. Plus if I keep it all together, I'm always going into the drawer, so I'm always using different ones!

Relaunch! New Bits + my YouTube

Hello!
It's been quite a while since I've done a blog post (or even posted a YouTube video) but I did want to share some new little bits - AKA reasons for not being around.
In May I took a trip with my wonderful school band to Disney World! It was really a great time and I had tons of fun! In 5 days, we visited all 4 parks and Downtown Disney. We also had a great experience doing the Disney Preforming Arts Workshop and preformed in Epcot! It rained quite a bit but the last day was beautiful and sunny and perfect before we had to come back home the next day. I also ate Mickey shaped waffles every morning for breakfast cause why not?! We also saw the fireworks display at Cinderella's castle, FANTASMIC!, and La Nouba Cirque Du Soleil!
(Speaking of Cirque Du Soleil I heard the incredibly sad news of the 16 ft fall.)
Obviously since it was only five days, I have been home for a while now. My lack of YouTube videos has partly to do with school and partly to do with overall laziness. Just last week, I finished grade 11 and my 2nd semester finals drove me a little crazy. It was project after pro
ject. Exam after exam. Let's just say I've spent this past week off of school catching up with friends (because during exams all we do is worry) and enjoying my summer. I've also begun taking action with myself and have decided to try and do Just Sweat (a feature on Just Dance 3 for Wii) at least 3 times a week. Since I started high school I haven't exactly taken the best care of myself and it's something I think is important for me to do.
As general laziness goes, I just haven't found the energy to get myself up and sit in front of a camera and talk about a bunch of beauty products. I find it difficult to even sit and watch a beauty video. I'm not sure if my interest level has gone down or if it's just the reality. I've found myself unsubscribing to a lot of people lately. I feel like we're all just talking about products we like and nothing really has any background to it. And frankly, it's not entertaining. I've found myself wanting to do more interesting things with my videos, I want them to be entertaining and educational.
That being said, there is a lot of videos that'd I'd like to film and I am not stopping making them. But I think that they won't be consistent (not that they are anyways) because I want each of them to be unique. So I think I'll be taking a lot of the video I want to do and make them blog posts instead so that my youtube and my blog are up to date.
There are many other things that have been taking up time in my life. I'm still trucking through my musical passions. Although everything seems to be dragging at the moment. I've also found myself on tumblr and writing fanfiction a lot. These are all things I like to keep separate from my videos but sometimes they can effect each other.
Without further ado, here's the re-launch of my blog! I've decided to make this blog anything I want. Whether I want to tell you about a new product or an experience somewhere you're gonna hear about it here!

It's Fall! ~ my favorites

It's fall time! I love fall; so I thought I'd share my fall favorites with you guys!

Dark Lips
For dark lips, I love using lip stains; my favorite is the Revlon Just Bitten Lip Stain in Twilight

I've never experienced any bleeding with it, and it comes with a handy lip balm on one end to keep your lips moisturized! I would recommend is to make sure your lips are nice and smooth before applying because it (or any stain) can easily sink into the lines/dryness of your lips. I like using the Fresh Sugar Lip Scrub; it smells amazing!

Winged Liner
For winged liner I love the Almay Liquid Liner! It's cheap at the drugstore, plus it lasts but comes off easily at the end of the day. It has a felt tip that goes from thick to a nice thin point for any kind of line.

Pumpkin Spice Lattes!
I mean, really who doesn't love these?!

Sweaters
Seriously though, I love fall because of sweaters! Hoddies, cardigans, pull overs, jumpers, everything!

The first two are by American Eagle, and the last you can find at Aritzia (I have 4)!

Halloween
Who doesn't love halloween! My favorite part is the halloween movies on Disney Channel! Especially Halloweentown and Twitches :)

What's you favorite thing about Fall?

My Vans Warped Tour Experience

After a whole bit of going/not going. My sister and I won tickets through Live Nation to Vans Warped Tour!
We mainly just wanted to go to see We The Kings and, overall, the price of the tickets wouldn’t of been worth it if we paid full price.
We got there around 10:30, because the doors were opening at 12, little did we know, they lied and the doors opened at 11. Annoying. But anyways, we picked up our tickets at the box office/will call. It took a while for them to find our tickets because we weresupposedto pick them up at the Guest List line.
Anyways, we got our tickets, and found a super short line. Once we got into the venue we went to the inflatable with all the times and found the times for we the kings. Then we went to the merch table. The merch table had a few wristbands for signing so we bought merch and he just gave them to us. (even though we were supposed to answer some triva question) They were also giving out free wristbands at the American Rag tent, which is where they do the signing.
We went to the Kia Soul stage right after, so we could be front row when WTK came on at 2:15. So we sat through some other bands. Then WTK came on; OMG seriously. It was so amazing! such a great set! Watch out for pictures that I\ll be posting. so afterwards - the set ended around 3:00 we waited around for 4:45, and it POURED! ABSOLUTELY POURED RAIN! We were up to our ankles in water, it was completely flooding to venue.
So they forced everyone out of the venue, and into the ampatheatre. We went back to our car to see if we could wait out the rain. It eventually stopped and the show was back on, so we went to see if the signing was still happening and it was CANCELLED! I couldn’t believe it. and I wasn’t until we got home that charles andtravis tweeted to were coming out to take picture with people.
Overall I’m so glad we got to see the show, but we’re still kinda upset we missed meeting them. But they should have a headlining tour soon, in which case we’ll get to meet them.

Revlon Smokey Shadow Stick - Torch + Covergirl comparison

I recently picked up one of Revlon's new Smoky Shadow Sticks in the shade Torch.
I was initially interested in this product because it seems so similar to Covergirl's Smokey Shadow Blast.
Like covergirl, this has a lid side, and a crease side, with a rounded and tapered tip to help it be more easily applied.
The first side is a pretty light pink shade for the lid. I noticed after apply it to my eye that you have to build it up a lot for the pink to really show. Otherwise it just looks like shimmer. But if you decide to apply a shadow over top with a similar color, this as a base will really bump up the color!
The second side is a pretty medium brown for the crease. Again, I felt that I needed to apply a bit more than usual to help the color really show up a bit more.

Revlon Smoky Shadow Stick - Torch (left), Covergirl Smoky Shadow Blast - Bronze Fire (right)
As you can see, when comparing the Revlon vs. Covergirl, the Covergirl comes out a lot more pigmented. But the reason I'm going to tell you pass the Covergirl and buy the Revlon is because the Covergirl creases like CRAZY, where wearing the Revlon on it's own - while it can crease a bit - is completely fine and I completely agree with it's colorstay name!
But if you do decide to build up the Revlon and not top it off with shadow, I would recommend to put a primer underneath, just in case!

Have you tried this new product? What did you think of it?
