Music: What do I like?

So today's post isn't about beauty, but I did post a March Favs on my youtube channel. So there will be a link to my youtube channel (along with everything else) at the end of this post, and you can check it out there.
Some of my favorite Artists:
  • Justin Bieber
  • Katy Perry
  • The Black Keys
  • Maroon 5
  • Selena Gomez
My most listened to song on iTunes: Ours-- The Bravery
This an amazing song and guess what...
Favorite all-time song: Ours-- The Bravery
Yeah. I really love this song.
Other songs I am loving right now are:
  • Who Says-- Selena Gomez
  • Blow-- Ke$ha
  • Animal-- Neon Trees
  • Howlin' For You-- The Black Keys
Some of my most listened to song are off the Eclipse Soundtrack. I used to listen to that 24/7 I dont really anymore, but I still llisten to some of the songs on it. I definatly recommend that CD, if you like artist/styles like The Black Keys or Vampire Weekend.
I also Love Justin Bieber's Acoustic Album. My favorite song off it is Baby. I really like it in Acoustic version for some reason.
I even have workout music, I really like Indy Q. The beat is really good to keep you pumped!
Where do I get my music?
Well I mostly buy it. Cause I like having the cover art. So usually it's off iTunes, it great for geating singles, and stuff. I don't really like FrostWire, because it's not guaranteed thats it's a good copy of the song. I like buying CD too. Sometimes I like to have a hard copy. I've only ever bought one full album off iTunes. It was the Eclipse Soundtrack, and it was on sale for boxing week. I also paid for it with a gift card I got for Christmas.
I love getting iTunes gift cards. But I never use it al at once. It's great to have money on your account when you just want to buy a song. Then you dont have to worry about paying. Especially if it's a $5 app or a full album. $25 goes a long way in an iTunes gift card.
Anyways, thats music I recommend and all that good jazz. I love music and I'm glad I could share this with you!

Nail of the Day: OneLessLonleyGlitter

Happy Monday! Emily only has 3 days of school this week! yay!
I got my hands one One Less Lonley Glitter a while back and finally had the chance to paint my nails with it.
I love this nail polish! Mostly because it's purple and sparkely, and if you named to things I loved that would be them. But I also love how it's not just one shade of purple glitter, theres dark and light purple in it too.
It took me about two coats to get the glitter all over, I added a third coat to some nails for touch ups. I also used to coats of top coat. Which I normally wouldnt do, but I didn't want the glitter to be all uneven, so I added another coat of top coat.
By the way, I love the top coat I'm using too! It's the China Glaze Patent Leather Top Coat. And I love how shiny it makes your nails! I swear it made the glitter on this polish look more shiny! (compared to glitter on it's own)

That's all for now! Look out for a tutorial soon!

Life: March Break is over.

Hello! Todays post is not about beauty or fashion, but life. I though I would do something different!
Also! I put a new gadget on my blog (to the right) you can now follow me if you dont have a blogger or twitter or yahoo. Just type in your e-mail!
Okay so March Break is over, March break is canada's spring break. and I really dont want to go back to school. I wanna stay home. But really I should cause I've barely done anything. I just sat on my computer, and did nothing. So, I really should go back and move around and see daylight.
Also, since I havent been going out much, I havent been getting any use out of my makeup. Which sounds weird, but since I have quite a bit, I need to use it as much as possible.
I'm not sure how late I'll get to sleep tonight. Whenever I'm off school for a long period of time, I tend to stay up till 4 in the morning, and wake up at 1 in the afternoon. But now I have school tomorrow, so I;m going to try to fall asleep and thats just going to make me fall asleep slower. It's compicated. But bascially, my internal clock is all off.
OMG! My sister, our friend, and I, went to see Limitless with Bradley Cooper, on Friday. It was amazing! It's an action movie. It's about this writer, who has a hard time writing. He runs into this drug dealer, and the drug dealer give him a pill that lets you access every part of your mind. So then his life is awesome because he super smart, but there is all these other twists, and it's amazing! it's rated 14A, so yeah (do with that waht you will).
I've been on Polyvore for a while now, but recently I've really gotten back into it. So if you have a polyvore too, I'd love to see your sets! (link below for my profile)
Anyways, hows life been for you?

MACs Best and Worst Products!

Hello!
One of my favorite youtubers macbaby0808 made up a tag called: MAC's Best and Worst Products. Well, I'm sick so when I filmed it today I sounded all stuffed and gross. So I decided to do a blog post on it!
#1- Worst- Pearlmatte Eyeshadow Trio- MAC in Lilyland Collection

BTW- none of these are my pictures, just what I found off google :P
This was my first ever MAC Product, and I have to say, I was very dissapointed in this. The colors are not very pigmented, and barely show up on your eye.
Yes I know that matte eyeshadows are always not very pigmented. But these weren't even that matte, hense the name "Peralmatte." The only color that really showed up was the pink, and it's really not a very pretty pink when swatched. Anyways, I had very high expectations with this. Considering it was the first MAC product I had ever tired.
Let me just say that if they come out with this again as a re-promote: Don't Buy It.

#2- Best- Single Eyeshadows
Considering that I didn't like the Peralmatte eyeshadows, I decided that I would throw the I do like MACs Single Shadows. My last blogpost was of my collection of them, and I have gained two since. (not that I get two MAC eyeshadows everyday, but this just happened to be the time frame I got two new ones).
If you are wondering the two I got were Gleam and Malt. Which I will be doinga tutorial with soon.
I love these eyeshadows. They are very pigmented, and show up very well on the eye when applied with a brush. All I can say are good things about these. They can be alittle pricey for some people, but I deffinatly think they are worth the money.

#3- Worst- PlushGlasses
Some people may hate me for saying this but I hate these!
In my opinion, I think they are the sticky-est of all the MAC lip glosses. Also, this really burned my lips when I applied it. I actually don't have mine in my collection anymore, because I gave it to a friend that likes it. I really just overall didnt like the formula of these, an will not be purchaseing another one. But thats just my opinion.

#4- Best- Cremesheen and LustreGlasses
(I'm putting these together so that it's neater)

To the left, is the CremesheenGlass. I love this formula. It's very, very smooth. Which is something that MAC seems to have trouble with. The also very opaque and true to color. Which sometimes can mean bright lips, which is why I gravitate towards the LustreGlass. Which is on the right. This formula is the most sheer out of all of MAC lip products. It's also not as sticky as MACs LipGlass and PlushGlasses. Which is another reason why I like it. If your just starting with MAC, the Cremesheen, or LustreGlass is the way to go, and I'd recommend either.

#5- Worst- Marine Life Highlight Powder- To The Beach Collection
*GASP* Yes, I got sucked into paying $30, with all the hype and pretty pictures, I was dissapointed in this product. And by the way, I went on a wild goose chase for this. I have problems with this product which I will state in facts.
Fact #1- This is advertised as a "Highlight Powder" when in fact it mainly bright pink, which it should be called a "Blush."
Fact #2- The only reason MAC called it a highlight powder was because of the pretty gold. But this gold is an overspray. One swipe of your brush, and it's all gone.
So, by reading these facts you can see why I am dissapointed in this product. And I don't really ever use it. But, I must say that it's not entirely a terrible product, because the pink is quite pigmented.

#6- Best- Minerlize Skinfinsh Natural
My color is Light Medium
I have to say that I LOVE this product. I use it everyday that I wear makeup, and I wear it everyday to school. It keeps my concealer on through gym-class too. I think it even makes your skin look good, and-in a way-makes your skin feel softer (call me crazy). I think this is great for wearing on it's own, with concealer, or setting a foundation or tinted moisturizer.

So, thats all she wrote, or I wrote :P. Don't forget to follow!

Nail of the Day: JB Nicole By O.P.I.

Nicole by O.P.I. came out with a Justin Bieber Collection in February. Some of you may know, my aunt got re-married in Jamaica in January, but the only people that could go were my parents, so last night they had a reception for all their friends and family that couldn't go. Anyways, I painted my toe nails with one of the Justin Bieber nail polishes so my feet would look all pretty. So I took some pictures so you guys could see the color. If you want to see any other colors I picked up, let me know and I'll do a post on them.

So I painted my toenails with NOT A GOLD BIGGER. This is a really pretty gold with silver shimmers. I only had to apply one coat of polish to get it this opaque.
Also, with this collection you get Nicole by O.P.I.'s Perfect Stroke Brush. This first came out with a Sally Hansen's Intra-Dry Polishes. Which I did not like, since the formula was already so opaque the brush made it more opaque, making it harder to apply. In Nicole by O.P.I.'s case, their formula is already pretty sheer, so the brush makes the formula more opaque therefore makeing it easier to apply rather then harder.
I should also mention, that even if your not a Justin Bieber fan, you should definatly check out this collection. There are a lot of great colors to choose from. If you would like to see all the colors click here.

Spring Beauty Trends

This month's issue of ELLE (U.S.) talks about The Best In Show for Beauty this spring (2011). So I thought I'd talk about it here.

If you have seen this issue yet, it's the March '11 issue, and Fashion Icon; Katy Perry, is on the cover.
And if your wondering; this "Best in Show" article starts on pg.325.

First Stop: PANDA EYES
Purple is the most popular color for doing this look; like the picture shown below.
ELLE describes this trend as "a smokey eye on steriods" which I can totally agree with. This is the ultimate smokey eye; the color is blended up to the brow, out the meet the outer corner of the brow, and down onto the lower lash line. Start with a cream eyeshadow, but blend so it doesn't feel to cakey or crease. Make sure to set with an eye shadow, that has a similar color to the cream eyeshadow. Try using the NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil in Purple Velvet. This color is quite easy to pair with an eyeshadow so use any satin dark purple you may have.
Next is: ORANGE LIPS
Orange lips are one of those crazy trends that are hard to pull off. So if your not quite comfortable with orange lips, go sutle with Revlon Colorburst lipgloss in papaya. If your going for this trend face first try Illamasqua Lipstick in Blaze.
This trend is also constanly seen being paired with a pink blush. Try NARS Blush in Angelika. It is a cool-tone blush, so it will contrast well with the warm tones of the warm-tone lips.

Another Quite Dramtic Trend is: MEGA LINER
This look was seen quite a but at Christian Dior this Spring.
"Mega Liner" is thick liner on the top last line extended out to the same length as the eyebrow. You can use; Gel Liner, Pencil Liner, Liquid Liner, any type of liner basically.
I have a tutorial similar to this trend on my youtube channel which I will insert into this post

What ELLE likes to call: MANNEQUIN HANDS
Or what I call, Nude Nails. This is by far springs most popular trend that all your favorite celebraties like Leighton Meester, Jennifer Lopez, and Eva Longoria are wearing. ELLE also explains which colors go with which skin tones. But some of my favorites are:
From Sephora by OPI's Urban Ballerina Collection - Leotard Optional (almost ALL the colors from this collection are great for nude nails). Another great one Essie's Topless & Barefoot, one that everyone is raving about on YouTube.

Of course: THE TOPKNOT
This trend, I'm not the biggest fan of. To me, you look like cindy loo-who from the grinch if you wear it wrong. But if you wear it right, then I have nothing wrong with that. The look is a slicked back, high ponytail braided and twisted into a high bun. People have convincingly named this the "Top Knot." Tip: don't use hair gel to slick your hair back, this can make your hair look greasy and unnatural. Try using a spray gel instead; you use less which makes it look less shiny/greasy/unnatural. Again I think that if you dont wear it right, it can bounce all over the place and look very cindy loo-who (like girls at my school). But wear it right and your simply following a popular trend. If you want some more advice on how to do this JuicyStar07's video is very helpful and is the - not right, but- better way to do this.

ELLE's "Most Natural": MONOCHROMATIC SKIN

Bascially, this is countouring. Use a bronzer (perferably matte) a shade darker then your own skin tone. Contour on your cheekbones, jawline, and temples. Be sure not to to defined with contouring. You want this to look natural, defineing you cheekbones, to make your face look thinner. Adding to this trend, Highlight the tops on your cheekbones, and the bridge of your nose. But be careful, because using a too shimmery highlight can emphasize your pores, and if you have oily skin, it can make you look more oily. For this trend try using Benefit 10 Boxed Blush - for both highlighting and contouring- or NARS Luguna Bronzer - for just contouring- or Benefit High Beam - for just highlighting. Remember: It's about enhancing your natural features. Don't pile it on.

Last But Not Least: FLUFFY CURLS
It was all about big fluffy curls on the runway at Sonia Rykiel. I mean, look it up on google, it's everywhere! Use a bigger barrel curling iron for a few top pieces, then a half size smaller for the rest of your curls. Now flip that hair upside-down and run your fingers through it to fluff it out. Then use hairspray to hold it for the day. My favorite hairspray, is Dove Flexable Hold.

And thats it! ELLE's top srping beauty trends. I must tell you to go pick this issue up. There's also alot of great spring fashion trends inside too. I also must say that I'm not being paid by ELLE, any partner of ELLE or anyone involved in anyway with ELLE. I'm not being paid by any of the companies mentioned either. Actually I'm not being paid by anyone period.
I had alot of fun writing this blog post, and I really hope everyone enjoyed it. I will also be doing tutorials based off these trends on my youtube channel, so watch out for it! I'm super excited to do those tutorials, and to post this blog.
So, thanks for reading and dont forget to follow this blog for more beauty, fashion, and hair tips, tricks, and trends!

What makes your eye color POP!

Hello Lovelies! Today's font is trebuchet!
And today's post is about what colours make your eyes POP! (and yes everytime I say POP it'll be in CAPS :P)
There are a lot of makeup brands that makeup lines claiming to make your eye color POP. Some popular ones are CoverGirl, Almay, and Physicians Formula. But today I'm laying down the facts, what really makes your eye color POP and what doesn't.
Basically you wanna stick to the color wheel, whatever is opposite from your eye color will make them stand out. This is also called complementary colors. Like wearing a blue t-shirt with an orange sweater, one complements the other.
GREEN EYES- I don't think you want to go with red eyeshadow here, since that a little dramatic for everyday. Pink is great alternative to red. Try a shimmery light pink on the lid, with a light matte brown in the crease. Or hot pink on the lower lash line for a POP of color! Purples will also do the trick. so try a plum mascara or eyeliner!
BROWN EYES-Technically brown isn't on the color wheel, so we'll go with a light orange. Blue is what you wanna go for. Blue eyeshadow can be tricky, you don't want to be that 7 year old wearing frosty blue eyeshadow from her grandmother. Try a satin gray-blue on the lid with a brown of your choice in the crease. If your not very comfortable wearing blue eyeshadow, try wearing a color POP of blue! I have a tutorial of this on my YouTube channel. Blue mascara is kinda tricky too, find a black mascara with blue flex glitter in it, I'm pretty sure benefit sells one.
BLUE EYES- You've got the simplest easiest makeup to make your eyes POP. Brown. Just a regular neutral eye will make your eyes POP. For a tutorial click here.
HAZEL EYES- Golds will really make your eyes POP! My favorite gold is Half Baked by Urban Decay. Try that on the lid, and any brown with gold shimmers in the crease.
I really hope this helped you if your looking for something to make your eyes POP!
Thanks For Reading! Don't forget about Twitter and Dailybooth!

Welcome!

Welcome to my new blog! yay!
SO this is a blog for my YouTube channel chanelmiss13 (if you would like to check out click here), but if you would like to come read anyways, that's awesome too!
Here I will be doing review on products, what I'm loving posts, and just random stuff! (and hauls!)
I've noticed that people don't really watch reviews on my channel, my subscribers just aren't really into it, so for the meantime they will be here!
Also, I get like one product but I always feel like I have to haul it. So if I show it here, I wont always have little tiny videos that are 5 minutes long to haul on thing, :)
Oh! and maybesome fashion posts? nothing to big, but I hate making fashion videos cause I don't really like watching them myself.
So what would you like me to try out and review? or maybe you need  an idea for an outfit? let me know and look out for posts!
I also have Twitter and Dailybooth, So follow me there!
xoxo ~ Emily!
